Pinwheel Card with Tina

Hello!  Tina here, with another fun card creation, using some fun papers and supplies from The Crafty Scrapper!

In my June class, we made pinwheels for one of the class cards.  They were mini's but I decided to do a bigger one for this fun summer card.  I used a red, white, and blue line of papers from Echo Park and combined it with some great sparkly Thickers, a Happy die cut from Impression Obsession, a little washi tape, and a wood butterfly from Maya Road for the perfect summer card!

Live, Laugh, Love Layout with Melissa

Melissa here with more vintage obsessions.  

Today’s fixation is the vintage photobooth pictures combined with the amazing Tim Holtz die cuts and papers by Authentique and Echo Park.   The pictures along with the  'live laugh love' block from the Echo Park set made me wonder about their lives and from the ones I chose, it looks like they were able to display each value.

 

Everyone knows I love the clock die cut, but the new "Trellis" may just be in the running for the favorite!  I already have a ziplock to hold all the middle inserts because it is way too much fun to mix and match. 

It is a pretty simple layout and the longest part was trying to decide which photos to use (some from my stash and some from my friend the internet and some from my friend Tumblefish Studio).  

No real in depth techniques other than trying to decide which colors of ink ( Peeled Paint, Tea Dye, Stazon and Saffron).   Yes, mentally I sent a note to Wendy Vecchi thanking her for the Saffron Archival ink.  The second time consumer was trying to decide which swirls, stamps, etc -- once all that was done, just glue it all down.   The store has the most amazing selection of backgrounds, swirls, and 'messy' stamps... go have a look and tell them I sent ya ;)

… and doodling, nothing beats the Signo white pen and my most wonderful husband went out in the rain to pick up new pens for me when my last 2 ran out (he was on his way to the post office so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask).   Before adding the squiggle lines (yes, it is a technical term) and the dots, well, the pictures just looked like I was just trying to shove my favorite photo booth picts on a page (which I was, but still wanted it to be visually appealing).   Give it a shot!

My other new fav are the Maya Road wooden accents covered with Distress Stain and then traced with Icicle Stickles.  (I had butterflies, but I think I may need to strip off the trial layers of paint and use for another layout… whoops).  Then I can't tell you how much I played around with arranging the flowers - thought about making some with the papers, but sometimes, the store bought flowers are JUST what is needed.

June Blog Challenge - METAL!

I have used yummy new papers from Bo Bunny, Echo Park and Carta Bella for my layout.

This chippie is from Blue Fern Studios. I used embossing powder on it, then highlighted it with a white pen.

New Prima Flowers, and some amazing new METALS from Maya Road.

Die cut stickers from Carta Bella and more METAL from Maya Road.

I used my Wendy Vecchi stamp to create a double layer flower. I colored it with Faber-Castell pens and pencils.

Card Time with Tina

Hello, Tina here with two more card creations using the bright and colorful line
by Echo Park called Summer Bliss.

When picking out papers, I love to try to match up the papers with my theme of the card.
My cards today are perfect examples of that. 

 

Do you see that the paper I picked for the first one has ice cream cones and other treats to match with the cone I made out of a cardstock triangle and a scallop oval?  From there I added some other fun elements including a pre-printed label about summer, a chipboard bow, and ribbon.  By the way, the ribbon started out white but I changed the color by swiping Distress Ink on it!  And if you look closely, you might see all the glitter on the ice cream scoop I added with the Wink of Stella pen!

You might remember, I always finish the inside.  A stamped sentiment from My Favorite Things was a perfect match!

On the backside of the yellow dot paper, was an all over print with birds.  I decided it would be a perfect match to use with the Darcie's stamp set of a little girl holding a bird.  I added the sentiment "you lift me up" from the same set.  It could be a wonderful encouragement card for any occasion.

Oceans of Fun layout with Anita S

Howdy blogging friends!

How is the weather where you are?? Isn't it super freaky this year?

I have a friend in Colorado that got snow yesterday! It has been raining

 here for days and the temp is down to the low 60s today. Not that I am complaining!

Today I have a new layout to share

using some really cute new Echo Park Papers!!

 How cute is this new paper!!! It is Summer Adventures from Echo Park- be sure to get yours before it is all gone! If you are not near the store, remember- they ship!

I used a stencil and Molding Past to add some texture to my background. The flowers are Vintage Prima and the chipboards are Blue Fern Studios.

  I used my Cameo to make my layered title using Bazzill cardstocks. 

Do you have a Cameo and want to learn more ways to use it? I will be teaching a series of classes

on how to use your Cameo starting in June/July.

The journal card is also from the same paper line, and I used torn strips from the line to make a layered mat for my photo and inked them with Powder Puff ink from Quick Quotes. 

The word art here is trimmed from one of the Journal Cards, and I added a little bit of bling down each edge to make it pop. In the upper corner I used a square chippie from MME to accent- I cut it in half so it would fit where I wanted it. These are also available at the store. 

Fun Boy Layout with Patty

Hi everyone! 

It's Patty again with a fun boy's layout. 

For all this boyish fun,  the Suave collection by Authentique and

 the That's My Boy collection by Echo Park were used.



 The procedure here involved painting gesso onto the paper. Next, I used a mask and applied modeling paste.  The paper strips were cut into wave shapes, crinkled and inked before adhering them to the page.

Behind the photo you can see part of a Maya Road mini album page which was painted, stamped and inked. It was also popped up.  

For this cute chalkboard label, I used Word Software, created a textbox, then filled it in with black and typed in a vintage typewriter font in white.



The buttons were painted white, then sanded. The chipboard shapes were painted. An old prescription bottle and gesso were used to create the circles in the background.

New Echo Park with Ginger

Hello Everyone - Ginger here today to show you my new layout.

This is a photo of my sweet granddaughter Kenzie playing soccer this year.  She is just 5 years old and having a great time.  At this age they are all so cute!! The papers are by Echo Park and they go perfectly with the color of her team!

I distressed the edges and turned the corners inward. I did the same thing with the orange paper to give it a sense of balance.    On the back of one of the papers was soccer ball print.    I cut it out into a circle which gave me a nice soccer ball.

Here I used various flowers from Petaloo and Prima.  I found in my stash this ribbon and used it to gather the flowers.  The three little buds I made by just rolling up paper.  Can't get easier than that!!

Again I rolled up paper to make these little buds and added leaves.    You can also see I used black, orange, and then the soccer ball which I used my Tim Holtz page edger.    I also had this wooden hinge and painted it black and added little pearls.  

The word soccer I painted black and while it was still wet I added little black beads.  I was given the little circle with the star but decided to use them separately.  I added the button with the heart to the circle and painted the star yellow and added my granddaughters name...Kenzie!  

I did a lot of distressing on the papers.  I also added by Martha Stewart a punch to the soccer paper and added ink. I also used two papers around the photos and distressed them as well.

Independence Day Banner with Amy

Hi everyone in blogland! It is Amy here today to share a project with you.

  What is more awesome than celebrating the red, white, and blue?? I was so excited to open my design team package from The Crafty Scrapper and find this American-as-apple-pie paper from Echo Park and Authentique. I love making holiday banners for my door and my one from last July 4th met with an untimely accident so this was perfect! This also reminds me to be thankful to our soldiers and look forward to those summer days that are surely going to come again!

The background  scalloped pieces are covered with Tim Holtz Distressed Stain (Brushed Pewter).

I constructed the 3D stars out of a Maya Road star key chain and Maya Road spools to give them depth. I then covered the stars with the starburst stencil and Wendy Vecchi silver embossing paste.

I love the bling on these, it makes me think of fireworks in the sky.

The rhinestone stars are also Tim Holtz and the fabulous bling is Want 2 Scrap.

My favorite piece of this banner!! I made these fireworks by stacking Maya Road spools and rolling them in strips of the different paper. I made the fuses for the fireworks out of the stems of flowers I had saved and I just painted them black and curled them around my paper piercer!

Little Farmer Layout with Ginger

Hello everyone, it's Ginger here today!

I love this sweet little photo of my youngest grandson Colby.  He loves all kinds of animals and our son allows the kids to see and touch them all.  This was at his birthday party and he had a little zoo of animals to show up.  He was in heaven!

I love being on the Design Team at The Crafty Scrapper and this time they gave me such wonderful papers to create this layout.  They are from Echo Park, Simple Stores, and Authentique.  Each paper worked perfectly with the look I was after!  This layout did take me all day to create.  However, I do like how it turned out.  I cut out the green paper and added Martha Stewart punch and then distressed the other side.  I then attached it with eyelets and added string.  

I used so many papers on this project.  You can see the eyelets and string plus the stripe paper I used by Martha Stewart a punch which I inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  I made a flower from Tim Holtz and added a button with string.  I used by Prima and Petaloo the flowers.

On one of the papers it had this cute monkey so I cut it out to hang on the the paper.  I also used by Martha Stewart a punch to the outside of the paper.  I curled the paper up on this side of the layout.

You can see the other eyelets and string plus the letters that I chose but it to make them stand out better I used a fine point marker to outline.  I also used from Tim Holtz the smaller flower and I had in my stash this cute little goat button!  From Maya Roads I was given the little bird, round circle and the flourish which I painted and added design with the fine point marker.  You can see I used two papers and distressed each one around the photo.  I also used cheesecloth behind the flowers and buttons.

For those of you that don't know me, I have been around 'scrapping' for a long time and run the gammut from 12x12, cards, art journals, canvas, ATC, and anything else that involves paper, paint, ink .. bring it on.   For the last couple of years I dabbled in digital and manipulating vintage photos with a quirky spin.   So thankful that Carolyn asked me to come back and be a part of The Crafty Scrapper and so looking forward to what we can create together.

I am new to blogging and writing down the creative steps to glory, so bear with me.  
Typically I never have a plan and just spread everything out on the table and
start siftin’ & sortin’ until all of a sudden you look up and see the face of
your new lovely baby.. or creation.. whichever fits.  

For this first design effort I was provided with the most awesome stash of supplies from
the Times & Seasons 2 papers & stickers from Echo Park paper company.  

 Believe me, every piece is AWESOME!  Just LOOK at this vintage goodness -- and think how much printer ink you save by purchasing all this joy!  

 Run to the store now and add to your stash.... 

Using these supplies, my favorite Tim Holtz die cuts (Hardware and the clock) & distress inks, Wendi’s embossing paste, Maya Road’s clocks and a vintage group picture by Tumblefish @ DeviantScrap.com… .

If you have not tried Wendi's Embossing Paste, you are MISSING OUT!!!!   Do not let the name or the thought intimdate you - it is smooot like velvet - the black gives the look and feel somewhat of flocked paper.  Two minutes to professional results - you will be addicted.

I liked that it sort of appeared like a photo hanging on old Aunt Gilly's wall.. ha!

 

But wait!!!!   There is more!!!!!

I was having so much fun so I made another using a vintage 

photo from Hidden Vintage Studio. 

This uses the same sets of papers and stickers from the Times & Seasons 2, Tim Holtz fading dots stencil and Wendi's Silver Embossing paste.  There is alos a Maya Road clcok, Wendi's bar stencil and the target stencil is Crafters Workshop I believe.   The angel wings are from my stash.
