December Daily

Last Saturday at our Pot Luck Crop, Penny a good customer and friend, was making this adorable December Daily. Another girl was making one that she bought as a kit, I thought what a great idea. Of course I really didn't need another project since I am on a roll doing all of Wendy Vecchi's projects and now T!m Holtz's 12 Christmas tags, not to mention home life and my son's school stuff.

The more I kept looking at her book, I feel in love with it. I liked her idea of cutting all the paper 6x12, adding envelopes, transparency, photo holders and acrylic pieces, then bind it with the Bind-it-all. So here I am working on day 2, but here are pictures of the first day. Even though all the Santa stuff didn't happen on the 1st, I wanted to start my book out with this since the paper did a awesome article on my husband.

To learn more about this project, "December Daily" check out Ali Edward's description on her blog.

Another crazy weekend at the store.............

Downtown Waxahachie started the weekend off with a live band playing outside the courthouse and a carnival for the kids, this was to kick off the celebration of the Mini Grand Prix that races around the downtown square every year. As usual I always forget about all the events and plan a big event at the store. This weekend we had Cheryl Darrow and Tracy Pounds from Ten Seconds Studio come teach two awesome classes. Here's a picture of the sheer book Tracy created just for the Crafty Scrapper customers.
We had so many customers come from all over the meteroplex, some even drove all the way from Austin to take these classes.
The reviews from the customers were that this was one of the best classes they have taken and a wonderful day spent at the store. Thank you Cheryl and Tracy for bringing two great classes to the store........we love your product, your creations, and especially your personalities!
With 3 scrapbook retreats going on, all the events at the square, classes back to back and people shopping at the store for the first time........it was a crazy fun filled weekend. Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

NSD at The Crafty Scrapper.....

Heidi here, I am highjacking Carolyn's blog to update everyone on the shenanigan's we have been up to. Joanna has found a vintage smock at one of the antique stores on the square. We have been gigling quite a bit because with her shorts and the smock on, you can not see her shorts!!!! Between that and her banging away on her new vintage typewriter, she looks like Polyanna! Megan from 10 second studio has been teaching us new uses for Glimmer Mist (hairspray!) And there is so much new product in the store and so many people it is great. Not to be forgotten Sherri's new pedicure!! Oh, and there are people scrapbooking. See more pictures on the design team blog here.

Happy Birthday to Crafty Scrapper.......

This past Saturday was the stores 3rd anniversary, and boy did we celebrate. Everyone received a birthday bag with goodies, and throughout the day we gave LOTS of goodies away. I was so excited when Caroline with Maya Road, called and said she wanted to come down and do make-n-takes. I even learned a few new things.

After lunch I told her husband, David, that he and my husband were going to do a special make-n-take with the metal. I told him to go pick some chipboard out, he came back with one of their new Maya Road People chipboard albums, and the excitment on his face was priceless. Wish I could say the same about my husband! At first they were a little scared of all the tools, but then they really got in to it, and actually created some awesome metal chipboard men.
Don't they look proud of themselves! Some of the ladies bought chipboard people and took their example to copy....you guys are setting a new trend....lets here it for the guys, HOORAY!
After Caroline, David and her adorable son, Noah left, Cheryl and Megan with Ten Second Studios came to demo their metal products. I LOVE to be around these two, they are creative, funny and have the best personalities.
Everyone got into the metal, some already had tools and have never taken them out of the package. Before they left they gave away a $100 tool kit for a drawing, Gena was the lucky winner! If you have not tried the metal, they are coming back May 17th to teach 2 different classes, be sure and check out the events page on the web site.
Gail was quite proud of her frame, these went on the celebrate canvas that everyone received at the crop.
We even had time to celebrate Stacie's birthday, I think she was turning 21! HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACIE....WE LOVE YOU!
And what a great end to a fantastic weekend, I opened the Sunday paper and saw that I had received business of the week. Thanks to all of you wonderful customers for supporting us the last 3 years.

3 Days until the Maya Road class.........

Several of you have called this week to tell me how excited you are about Saturday. Caroline who is one of the owners of Maya Road and her DT coordinator Lisa Pace, who I just found out is a Memory Maker Masters 2008 , are coming to teach one of their new houses with a cute album tucked inside. As I was kitting the class up I thought "why am I not taking this class, look at all the goodies they are getting!" I may hide in a corner and maybe they will not notice I am there, LOL! You guys are going to love Caroline and Lisa and I hear they are awesome teachers, it should be a fun day. If you didn't get in the class do not worry, I am going to talk Caroline into coming back after summer to teach again.

The shop was full of scrappers on Saturday. Everyone was excited about all the new products and ideas from the design team. It was a great day full of yummy food, stories, laughter and lots of scrapping.

All Day Crop and CHA Demo's.................

Saturday was a blast! We showed everyone the Ten Second Studio stuff, Scro-Pal, Bind-All and all the goodies from each company. Everyone received a little stamp from Pink Paislee and give-aways from Glitz, Cosmo Cricket, Daisy D's, Maya Roads and several other companies.

For lunch we tried a NEW place called "Two Sisters Boxlunch Cafe". A couple of sisters I know took the plunge and opened a cafe, I have to tell you that was the best chicken cranberry salad sandwich I ever had. Their special touch are their cupcakes, Saturdays specials were Hummingbird and Lemon cupcakes. I cannot even explain the taste....they were AWESOME! As you can see we all thought so, if you get a chance try them out, they are located in My Fathers House on Rogers Street.

Happy Hour at The Crafty Scrapper

We thought we would share some photos of happy hour. Several people have asked how this works. Every Friday between 6-8pm we hold "Happy Hour", come to the cafe bar and complete a little project. There is a different one each Friday and range between $1-$9. You will receive a punch card for the cafe, after you have completed 12 cafe projects you receive a free cafe night with your punch card. This has been a fun addition to the store and we already have regulars that show up every Friday. If there are extra projects they can be purchased the next day.

This last Friday we had a couple of young girls who enjoyed doing this Valentine project that Crazy Aimee taught !

Sherri taught an adorable Home Wall Hanging this Friday and lots of people showed up for her little creation. While some were waiting to belly up to the bar, they enjoyed sitting in the coffee lounge visiting and drinking coffee.

Come join us for some fun "Happy Hour" projects the crafty girls have come up with. In February we have several awesome page layout we will be doing. All projects are on display at the store or online.

No Frills Crop...and some Digi Scrapping.........

Saturday was a BLAST!
With the new chairs and wireless in the store, everyone felt the change at the Crafty Scrapper. We had some new girls that came in search of a new place to crop since their Recollection store is closing. And another new scrappin' friend from up North in search of finding her "Mojo". I must say it was one of our best crops, we laughed, we ate and some of us even learned how to digi scrap. Yes that would be me! With Brook's help I got all excited and bought a few things from a website and began my journey into the digi world. I think my only problem is going to be mastering my Photoshop CS3 program.

As the night wore on Darlene shared with us how she got her "SEXY" back on the cruise she just went on.

As you can see this group was REALLY in love with the new chairs, I think they were sad when we told them they couldn't take chairs with them!

Got to love Annette's smile and creativity............

This weeks project is this adorable Give Thanks Banner, hang it on the mantel for the Holidays. We will begin at 6pm - 8pm or until supplies last and cost is $9. So come join in on the fun....
