Dear Santa

I just love this little photo of me and my younger sister Sally.  This was taken in 1957 while we were living in Van, Texas. These papers are from Bo Bunny Father Christmas and Reminesce.  I cut out the bottom portion and added it to the main paper.  I also cut out the paper behind the photo as well and inked it blue.  I was also given the green / gold ribbon which I added little pearls by Viva Ruby Glitter Liner.  I love the blue/ gold ribbon at the top and felt it only needed a little flower.  I already had this little blue flower with snowmen in the center which is by Prima.  I added the little white flowers which I had in my stash as well.  All the stick pins are by Maya Roads.  I also used by Bo Bunny Father Christmas metal trinket.  I was given the brown clock and snowflake which I added aqua ink to the outside edge.  I was given the little green Christmas tree button which I added it to the center of the clock with thread.   I added a trinket to the center of the snowflake.  I was also given this little ruler which I inked the sides and added the little cloth button by Maya Roads.  The papers were so cute that I felt this layout did not need alot of details.

Thank you so much for looking!

Naughty or Nice?

I couldn't resist doing this layout about my daughter's darling dappled dachshund! Wit is the cutest little guy, and always makes us laugh when he comes to our house for a visit. When he was about a year old, we took him to have his picture made with Santa, and I don't know who was more unhappy....Santa or Wit. What a moment to remember!!!

If you haven't stopped in at the Crafty Scrapper and seen the brand new Tulle Pleat Trim by Maya Road, you've got to do that...and stock up! Here, I've used the color, Cinnamon, to add definition to the center of the layout, and loved working with it.....I have more ideas for this lovely trim in later projects! Patterned papers used here are Bo Bunny's "Father Christmas" and "Blitzen". What a treat they are to work with!  Other supplies used are Maya Road's Mini Set, "Autumn", red Mini Market Stickers by October Afternoon, Cream Making Memories paint, Diamond Stickles, "Let It Snow" Kraft and "Time Flies" Kraft Clocks by Maya Road. "Peeled Paint" Distress Ink by Ranger/Tim Holtz gave tons of definition to the edges of the distressed paper.

Techniques used in this layout include tearing, distressing, inking and rolling of paper. Also, machine stitching and fussy cutting helped to create additional detail.

Thanks for taking a peek! .........Patty Rogers, Design Team Member

Winter Memories

You know that in Texas everything is bigger and better, right? Well, the same thing applies to scrapbooking here in The Lone Star State. If you think that one frame of torn, rolled and stitched paper looks good, just IMAGINE how good TWO concentric, torn, rolled and stitched circles would be!!! LOL!!!

This layout was created with the new Bo Bunny Collection, "Blitzen", which is cheerful and fun to work with. Other patterned paper used in this piece is "Snowman Collage" by Reminisce. The title uses chipboard "Seasons" and "Snapshot Words", Let It Snow Craft and "Vintage Snowflakes". Also by Maya Road  are the yellow "Star Trinket Pin" and the "Vintage Round Pearl" pin.The ribbon is by May Arts.  Techniques used were paper tearing and curling, border punching, using  EK Success, inking, stitching and doodling with my black Zig Writer. The dot theme was continued by using an Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber in "Snow Cap".

Here's a close up of the two circular frames:

August ATC Swap

It's time for the August ATC Swap. The challenge is to create three ATCs based on the theme JUNK. The 3 cards can be the same or completely different.

The due date to have your 3 ATCs to the store is midnight Saturday, August 29th! There will be no sign-up for the swap and the only deadline will be the challenge due date of August 29th.

To participate in this swap, simply have your 3 ATCs to the store in the swap basket by the due date with your name on the packaging. The Swap Basket is at the pink art bar.

Easy Peasy.

I will then swap all the cards, and leave them in the swap basket with your name on yours at the store for you to pick up. If you'd like yours mailed, then include self-addressed packaging with postage included.

All participants will trade at their own risk & expense. :)

What is an ATC?

"An Artist Trading Card (ATC) is a tiny, original piece of art created with the intention of swapping or trading it with another artist, not selling it. The one rule an artist trading card must adhere to is the size. An ATC must be 2.5x3.5 inches (64x89 mm). ATCs can be made in any medium and using any technique, whether it's painting, drawing, or collage. You are really limited only by your imagination and materials."

Hope you join us!

Spring Blooms Chipboaard Album

This little chipboard album was a delight to make. I loved using the little Heart of Texas chipboard album as the canvas for this mini album. After applying the gorgeous Basic Grey patterned paper , I used a flat white acrylic paint around the edges to give it a shabby chic look. Then, I used a marker to draw the stitches around each page.

Here are the supplies I used:
Basic Grey Sweet Threads patterned paper
Basic Grey Sweet Threads Cardstock Stickers
Maya Road Vintage Trinkets, Alterable Crystals, Small
Maya Road Trinket Beads, Hanging Chandelier
Maya Road Love Mini Chipboard Set
Maya Road Birds With Cages Mini Chipboard Set
Maya Road Alterable Vintage Lace Flowers

Other supplies used are:
Maya Mists
Martha Stewart
Prima flowers
May Arts Ribbons

The lovely embellies from The Crafty Scrapper added such sweet touches and made a beautiful setting to show off the photos.

Stop by The Crafty Scrapper and see this sweet, sweet album for yourself!

You're Sew Special

This LO uses Jillibean pattern paper, and lots of fun Maya Road shapes from the “Still Sew Cute Chipboard Set”. In the area around the picture I used Maya Road Maya Mists (Granny Smith Apple Green) and a Tattered Angels Glimmer Screen to create the oval frame before adding the picture. Also spritzed with the Maya Mist was the Mini Triangle Banner Canvas Pieces which are also by Maya Road. For the title, I used Maya Road (Jonathan) Mini Alphabet Chipboard and October Afternoon Mini Market Stickers over a Maya Road Coaster. The Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page “Loops” set gave an old fashioned look. Also included was a little Jenni Bowlin Vintage Style (black) Button and a Maya Road Kraft Scroll Frame Journaling Tag. The chipboard pieces were painted with Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint (Fired Brick). After the paint dried, I inked the edges of the chipboard pieces with Staz On Ink (Jet Black).

Some of the techniques that I used were border punching, painting, masking, sewing, inking and a little calligraphy on the journaling tag.
