Authentique and Sarsaparilla Layout

These are photos from a photo shoot my kids had with Stephanie Wilson Photography. My son was NOT cooperative about having his picture taken. No surprise for a two-year-old I suppose. To finally trick a smile onto his face Stephanie and my husband got him running around with a stick horse and caught him in motion. I suppose it will be a long time before he slows down. :)

The chevron papers are by October Afternoon "Cakewalk."

I love flowers so I couldn't resist adding this suede Maya Road flower even though it is a boy layout. I think the fabric and color made it suitable.

The letters are Thickers.

The chipboard star and cowboy card are both from October Afternoon's Sasparilla line. It is THE cutest paper. swoon.

Isn't She Lovely

I wanted to share this layout with a picture of our beautiful granddaughter, Izzy.

This picture was taken last year...she is even more beautiful now at the age of five.  So when I saw this paper line from My Mind's Eye, I knew I would use it on a layout about our Izzy.

I wanted to keep the focus on her, but still have the layout appear a bit fussy and feminine.  I cut four rows of scallops using a die from MFT Stamps.  Then I pulled out some more of their dies to make felt flowers.

The rest of the embellishments are part of the paper line and are premade.  I love mixing handmade and premade.

This layout came together very quickly for me.  I think the papers just inspire me!

Fairy Chipboard Diecut Frame

I created this Fairy Frame from the new die-cut kit at The Crafty Scrapper.

I added painted spools to the bottom of the diecut frame so it stands nicely.

I cut out these fairies from an old G45 collection.

I added a few flowers, and a paper butterfly to the top for a pop of color.

This is a little peek at the back.

I was thinking this would make such an adorable first birthday gift for someone. I am going to put this on my daughters dresser, and hope she can resist taking it apart. ;)

See you soon at The Crafty Scrapper! :)

Whimsy Layout using Maya Road Trims

I really wanted to scrap this picture of my daughter sitting in this brilliant purple chair, but the new CHA releases just didn't have the bright colors I was looking for. My friend Brook pulled this Sassafras Lass paper out of her stash for me, and I knew right away it had the perfect whimsy for my photo (by Stephanie Wilson Photography)! :)

I cut this mini-banner out of the new birthday line "Cakewalk" by October Afternoon. I also outlined the hot-air balloon with Platinum Stickles.

I added three layers of Maya Road trim, and I am not sure who makes the rainbow colored trim in there. Don't you love the purple stick pin through the ruffles?

Then I added some buttons, and vintage milk caps I found on eBay.

In the close-up you can see the button has a little bow, and I added gems to the milk-cap.

This little butterfly button is by Crate Paper. I love it.

All my supplies except the Milk Caps came from The Crafty Scrapper. :)

Prom Mini Album

This is a mini album that Patty made for the Crafty Scrapper design team.

From Patty "A little background information about this album is that Liz had been to prom the previous year with a dear friend of hers. She discovered that prom didn't exactly live up to her expectations, so by the time she was a senior, she was a little jaded about the event. She didn't want to wear a real girly formal like she had the year before and had seen photos of female stars wearing tuxes for women in a magazine. She was inspired to wear a tux, which she thought was tres chic! We found a pant suit that looked very much like a tux and I sewed on the rhinestones.....just the perfect touch for a girl who rarely does whatever "they" are doing!"

The lyrics to "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" from the musical, Annie Get Your Gun, came to mind when journaling this mini album. The original lyrics are by Irving Berlin. I used a little poetic license and changed the words to fit the occasion.
