BoBunny Weekend Market Layout using Faux Leather

AMAZING

I've been hoping to find the perfect paper to use for this photo of my son, Lee. BO BUNNY saved the day with their beautiful  "Weekend Market" Collection, and I could not be happier with the outcome. The jewel tones in this collection pick up the colors in Lee's sunglasses and lend themselves well to a masculine page. Check out the little MAYA ROAD Photo Corners used on the corrugated cardboard after painting it with MAKING MEMORIES Expresso, TATTERED ANGELS Golden Terracotta Glimmer Mist and RANGER'S  Adirondack Color Wash in Stream. Last, I splattered it with a bit of  Terra Cotta Alcohol Ink.

The brand new MAYA ROAD Chipboard Corner and Mini Tag Canvas Pieces worked well here. The technique used is inking, then applying Ranger Crackle Accents and sprinkling a mixture of colored beads from my stash, then adding more Glossy Accents. For the canvas tag I used a DYLUSIONS Quintessential Quote by Dyan Reaveley and STAYZON INK. Next, I sprayed it with a combination of Golden Terracotta GLIMMER MIST and more ADIRONDACK Color Wash in Stream. The Color Wash was also applied to the black and white checked ribbon, making it teal and black. Last, the edges of the canvas tag were frayed for a distressed effect. The chipboard title is by Thickers.
You can see some of the TIM HOLTZ / RANGER products here, which are always a treat to play with and achieve a grungy masculine look. I used Adage Tickets and the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Weathered Clock die cut. The pocket watch has authentic watch parts from my stash, TIM HOLTZ Metal Foliage, and Spinners inside with a layer of RANGER Glossy Accents to keep everything in place. The patina that resulted from the reaction to the Glossy Accents is perfect for this project, as it brings in more teal to the color palette.
The canvas flower was made by yours truly....I  cut a couple of strips of canvas cloth with pinking shears, spritzed them with Stream Color Wash  by RANGER and Golden Terracotta  Glimmer Mist  by TATTERED ANGELS . Before gathering the fabric, I inked a little of the dark blue by Color Box onto the edges, frayed them and coiled and glued them onto a circular chipboard disk. The center of the flower was treated the same way the as the Chipboard Corner by MAYA ROAD, then glued onto the flower.
These little faux studs are by 7 GYPSIES.  I used BAZZIL BASICS cardstock for lining some areas of the layout.
Another technique that I used was machine stitching with my Singer Sewing Machine, using Coats and Clark black thread.
One last technique to mention for this layout is the leather look behind the corrugated cardboard. Coming next on the blog will be a tutorial for this effective and inexpensive technique. Thanks for looking! Patty
