Crop For The Cure = Cook for the Cure

The date has been set for this year's Crop for the Cure. Last year was a huge event and we believe this year will be even better (if that's possible). You might have already noticed, but just in case you didn't, look over in the left margin for the slide show of some of the pictures from last year's event. A lower picture in this post is the table of give-a-ways from last year. Laura is the person walking and raising the money-same as last year.

This year's crop will be Saturday September 8. Starting at 10:00 in the morning and ending at midnight. The cost is $40.00. All of the money goes as donation to Laura's walking. The theme is Cook for the Cure. There will be cooking themed give-a-ways and projects. Think PINK cookware, recipes, etc.

Last year, we had a make n take, made a stamp, had a name tag contest and raffle drawings for wonderful prizes including a nice pink bag to carry to crops. There will be similar activities this year too. Food is coming from local businesses as well as donations for the drawings. Details to come out soon as to who is catering and some of the activities. We will definitely be doing the raffle.

Signing up will be a little different than we have done in the past due to the demand of this crop. Payment must be made at time of sign-up. Meaning, we won't be able to put you on the list as we normally do and get payment on the day of the crop. There won't be a waiting list this year because of the way we are doing the sign-ups either. If you remember, the waiting list is always in hopes of someone not being able to pay/come, but this year all of those signing up will have already paid.

We are making room for 40 croppers. First come, first served. So, you might want to call down to the store and put it on a charge card, or stop in this week and pay to get your name on the list.
This year's event is sure to fill up fast, just like before. It is a great day of fun, prizes and friendship, but best of all, it gives money to save lives--Just ask Betty and Yvonne, our guests of honor last year. So, get your pink outfits ready and we'll see you soon! (more info to come... keep checking back on the blog)
