State Champs

This photo is my daughter Mandy in 1992.  She was playing on Martin High School soccer team and they qualified to play for the state title in Austin, Texas.  They actually won and we were all so thrilled.  Once the girls returned they each received a letter that their names were to be placed on the Wall of Fame at the Arlington Independent School Building.  This was Martin's first time to ever win state for the girls soccer team.  Please see the following items that I used to create this layout.

Maya Roads - Flower and Flourishes

Colby

I love this black and white photo of my newest grandson Colby.  I did this layout for the design team of The Crafty Scrapper.  All the items were given to me to use except for just a few little things of my own.  I really love the paper which is Reminisce - Monkey Adventure - Zany Monkees!!  I think the little sock monkey is so cute!  The other papers are Bo Bunny - Blast Off Collection.   I did cut out the clouds  to make them pop out more.  The paper is so busy that I preferred not to do too much to this little layout.  Therefore, after adding the envelope I just decided it needed a little ribbon with Prima wooden buttons.  I then added the stick pins.

These are the items that I used:

Reminisce - Monkey Adventure - Zany Monkees paper
BoBunny - Blast Off Collection paper
Maya Roads - Envelopes, Bird, Flourishes, and Stick Pins
Tim Holtz - Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Aderondack - Aqua and Royal Dabbers
May Arts - Periwinkle Ribbon

We hope you make a stop into The Crafty Scrapper soon!

Christmas Village Day 4 Silent Night

Our next Heart of Texas Christmas house was designed by me, Dee Dee! :) I wanted a soft, snowy, vintage feel so I used Melissa Frances papers.

Silent Night - Shh

I used a 7 Gypsies metal corner for the awning.

I got all my ribbons and lace from TCS. The snowy ribbon on the rooftop is by Webster's pages.

I painted these Maya Road spools a vintage white and added their posies.

I added some Mica Flakes by Melissa Frances to the roof.

The large snowflake ribbon is a trim by Maya Road.

I finished it all off with a twined button. Super sweet right? I hope you pick up a house to see what you can come up with! Thanks for looking, and be sure to stop in The Crafty Scrapper for inspiration and shopping!

Christmas Village Day 2

Here are some up close details from The Crafty Scrapper's Christmas Village.

This house (Heart of Texas Studio) was designed by store instructor Frank Vento.

He created an embossed metal roof (Ten Seconds Studio).

He added these cute raccoons on trashcans in the back.

The house is covered with inked patterned paper, and put on a thick base.

Designer Karen Brooks created this tinsel tree using spools covered in patterned paper!

We think it is the bee's knees. :)

Hope to see you soon at The Crafty Scrapper!

Reminisce Vintage Christmas Layout

I just love this little photo of me and my younger sister Sally.  This was taken in 1957 while we were living in Van, Texas.  I chose this photo obviously due to the paper which was given to me from The Crafty Scrapper to use for the design team.  We were given enough paper to complete three layouts.   These papers are from Bo Bunny Father Christmas and Reminesce.  I cut out the bottom portion and added it to the main paper.  I also cut out the paper behind the photo as well and inked it blue.  I was also given the green / gold ribbon which I added little pearls by Viva Ruby Glitter Liner.  I love the blue/ gold ribbon at the top and felt it only needed a little flower.  I already had this little blue flower with snowmen in the center which is by Prima.  I added the little white flowers which I had in my stash as well.  All the stick pins are by Maya Roads.  I also used by Bo Bunny Father Christmas metal trinket.  I was given the brown clock and snowflake which I added aqua ink to the outside edge.  I was given the little green Christmas tree button which I added it to the center of the clock with thread.  I believe the button is by Maya Roads as well.  I added a trinket to the center of the snowflake.  I was also given this little ruler which I inked the sides and added the little cloth button by Maya Roads.  The papers were so cute that I felt this layout did not need alot of details.

Thank you so much for looking!

Using Canvas and Kraft on a Layout

I really love this photo of my grandson Logan dressed up as a little elf.  This photo was taken at Junior League style show which was in November to jump start the holiday season.  I had not done a layout of him but this paper and all the embellies was perfect.   I used Bo Bunny Father Christmas papers.  On the second page I used a hole punch and made all the little dots around the outside of the paper.  However, the paper was not in this shape so I had to draw it and then hole punched around it.  The other papers are cut out around the photo.  I used the brown paper snowflakes which I inked around the edges with Chestnut Roan ink and then added the little silver snowflakes for the center.  The brown snowflakes are from Maya Roads collection.  I was also given the white cloth button by Maya Roads which I painted around the edges and tied it with red thread.  The flowers are all from Prima.  I added Bo Bunny Father Christmas metal trinkets within the flowers plus a chipboard sign that says Merry Christmas to You!  The ribbon is by Maya Roads which I added a rhinestone buckle and then added Bo Bunny metal trinket.   I LOVED working on this layout.

I hope you enjoyed looking and hopefully it will give you some suggestions when you are working on a special layout as well.

Hugs - Ginger
